Department of Applied Meteorology

Structure of the department:

• Laboratory of synoptic and numerical weather forecasts

• Laboratory of active exposure to cloud physics and atmospheric processes

The main tasks of the department:

Carrying out scientific research in the field of development and improvement of various forecasting methods for the purpose of forecasting the weather in advance.

The priority tasks of the department are as follows:

• development of rapid methods of analysis of local and regional meteorological fields and regional weather forecasts;

• conducting scientific research aimed at improving short-term programs of weather forecasts;

• Conducting research in the field of weather forecasting on the territory of Uzbekistan;

• development and improvement of synoptic-statistical and hydrodynamic methods of analysis and forecasting of weather processes;

• Research of Central Asian synoptic processes and their long-term fluctuations under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors;

• preparation of scientific and practical references;

• providing methodological support in implementing the results of the department into practice.

Fieldofuse

The results are used in the rapid prognostic activity of Uzgidromet and provides meteorological services based on prognostic products to the state authorities, all sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan and the population of the country.
