At the conference, more than 1800 participants from 130 countries came together to solve one of the most urgent problems – the conservation of migratory species of wild animals.

Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abduhakimov, UN Deputy Secretary General, Executive Director of UN Environment Program (UNEP) Inger Andersen and others took part in the event. During the week-long negotiations, CMS COP14 discussed a broad agenda covering over a hundred issues, including:

Changes to CMS applications, including 14 additional species in need of international protection, including common lynx, bull-winged eagle, Pallas’s cat, Magellanic plover, and others;

proposals for new agreed actions as priority conservation measures for seven species;

anti-poaching measures;

efforts to develop ecological communications;

New strategic plan for types of migration for 2024-2032.
