“Green Central Asia” Uzbekistan-Germany international cooperation: cross-border dialogue on climate, environment and security in Central Asia and Afghanistan.

On March 17, 2023, a joint meeting of the heads of Central Asian countries’ administrations on glacier monitoring and modeling and the regional Working Group on coordination and cooperation in Central Asia was held in Tashkent.

Representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan took part in the meeting.

Heads of scientific centers and hydrometeorological service signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation on joint monitoring and modeling of glaciers in Central Asia.

This document serves to develop common approaches to glacier monitoring and modeling methodology, to conduct joint scientific expeditions.

In August 2023, a joint expedition to Tuyuksu Glacier in Malaya Almaatinka, Kazakhstan will be held.
