The seminar was organized by the Tashkent branch of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in cooperation with the UN Research Institute (UNITAR) with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The three-day course program covers the results and central themes of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), climate issues and sustainable finance, means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable development goals, key provisions of the Paris Agreement, as well as progress in the field of sustainable development. indicators were studied.

“Today’s event is a great opportunity to share experience with our colleagues. We are very interested in Uzbekistan’s approach to sustainable climate development. We want the voices of Uzbekistan and Central Asia to be heard in international negotiations, because our directions are very close. First of all, this is a great opportunity to hear opinions and suggestions from our Uzbek colleagues about what we can give to the international community,” said Vladimir Uskov, head of the Department of Sustainable Development, Climate and Ecology of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The acquired knowledge allows state employees to update their knowledge on the fight against climate change, ESG transformation, the activities of specialized international organizations, and the intricacies of the existing legal framework.
